Label Jérôme Quiot Sélection Gigondas

The vineyards are divided between several different parcels with Southern exposure, which ensures maximum exposure to the sun.
The vines are trained and pruned in the Gobelet method and have an average age of 40 years. No chemical fertilisers are used.
The planting is divided between 75 % Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10 % Mourvèdre and 5% Clairette and Cinsault.
The average yield is only of 35 hL per hectare.

The vines are planted on slopes of clay and chalk with good natural drainage.

The grapes are all picked by hand with 30% destalked. There is a long maceration and fermentation of about 24 days, under temperature control and with gentle daily pumping over the must by pneumatic pressure. 30% of the press wine is incorporated in the final blend.
The wine is aged in vats.

Wonderful deep purple colour, aromas of black fruits, leather and spices. Powerful but ripe tannins in the mouth. Excellent length.
Serve in large glasses at 16-17°C (54-58°F). Ideal with cold cuts, sausages, lamb, duck and cheeses.

This wine will be packaged either in 6 or 12 bottle cases.
