Label Jérôme Quiot Sélection Vacqueyras

The vines are located in several parceles at the foothills of the well-known Dentelles de Montmirail, just south of Gigondas. They are planted with 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. The Average age of wines is 40 years with a yield of around 35 hL/ha.
Old terraced vineyards, the soils are mainly of chalky pebbles with clay and silt from ancient glacial deposits.

The grapes are all picked by hand with 100% destemmed before crushing. The fermentation is at a controlled temperature of 30°C maximum. Mecreation lasts about 3 weeks, then after racking, "free run" wines are blended.
Ageing takes place in underground cement tanks.

Intense purple color with aromas of red fruits and light floral notes. Full bodied in mouth with ripe fruit flavors, a hint of liquorices and elegant spicy notes.
Presented in the traditional crested bottle of Vacqueyras.

To be served at around 16°C.
It is excellent partner to lamb, veal, game birds and cheeses, even baked red fruits.
