The Duclaux family traces its history back to the 17th century when Louis Duclaux was first consul of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1627 and its notable position continued in the family until 1831. Their Domaine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape lies in close proximity to the Quiot family's one and for many years there was close cooperation between the families in their vineyards. This resulted in Jérôme Quiot taking over full responsibility for Domaine Duclaux in 1991.
